Satelligence has appointed sustainability expert Alan Kroeger as its head of supply chains and natural climate solutions to help drive new initiatives to boost sustainability for various crops facing sustainability challenges, such as cocoa.

The company is hoping to boost its impact in preventing deforestation in the supply, and production, of commodities such as cocoa, soy, beef and palm oil crops.

Kroeger said, “Companies are growing more attentive to climate change and different resilience issues because it affects their bottom line. Monitoring climate risks to their supply chains and bringing in more environmental context will allow companies to make better more informed decisions, both environmentally and economically. The main importance is that you give them the full picture, then start making the right decisions.”
