Plans for the Cwm Ifor solar farm, a 20 MW farm to be built in Caerphilly county, has been submitted for approval next month.
The scheme, that would be owned and financed by the council but built on land that is privately-owned, comes after the council declared a Climate Emergency in 2019 and has committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2030.
If planning permission is granted by Welsh Government, the farm is expected to have a life expectancy of around 35 years, and construction to start next year.
