Citi’s new CEO commits to net-zero by 2050

Citi’s new CEO is committing to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

On the first day as CEO of Citi Jane Fraser has said that the bank will be net-zero by 2030 in its own operations and considering its financing of other entities, saying that an initial plan will be published within the next year.

After an initial implementation period, Citi will review the scope of the plan to assess which additional sectors to include and how best to incorporate additional areas of its business in a way that achieves net-zero emissions by 2050.
