Pub restaurant chain Brewers Fayre is supporting its charity partner Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) through its Christmas breakfast bookings.
Throughout December it is donating £1 to the hospital charity for every Santa themed breakfast booking ahead of Christmas.
The fundraiser involves breakfasts being served across 27 sites and is part of an ongoing partnership between Brewers Fayre and GOSH.
“Donations will help fund essential services including providing free accommodation so families can stay close to the hospital and spend precious time together, as well as helping to fund more breakthrough treatments for the rarest and most complex conditions,” said the pub restaurant chain.
To help promote the campaign a family that have been supported by the hospital were invited to a breakfast with Santa at its Chequers Corner site in Dagenham.
“The family of four, including Jake, his mum Danielle, Grandad and Grandmother, got to meet the big man in red in his grotto before enjoying an unlimited breakfast,” details Brewers Fayre.
“Jake was diagnosed with Burkitt’s Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma when he was four years old after doctors found a brain tumour that was putting pressure on his optical nerves, causing him to lose his sight.
“After surgery and chemotherapy at GOSH, Jake returned home, however with a permanently damaged optic nerve, is registered sight impaired and is learning braille. In addition to meeting Santa at Brewers Fayre, Jake thrives at school, loves playing and watching football.”
