Invesco has announced it has raised a total of £125,997 for Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, which supports families with a seriously ill child.
The total raised was throughout 2024, the first of the firm’s two-year partnership with the charity.
Work by the Rainbow Trust includes pairing families with a support worker who offers them practical and emotional support.
Invesco’s fundraising during 2024 will cover the cost of two-family support workers for the charity.
Fundraising has included raising £70,000 from its annual Thames Callenge event. Staff have also been involved in fundraising through the London to Brighton Cycle Ride, charity bake sales and a salary sacrifice scheme.
Invesco Care Foundation pledges to match staff fundraising to double the total raised.
“We are hugely grateful for the fundraising that our colleagues have done to date getting us to this fantastic first-year total and we are hoping to have an even better 2025 with some very exciting events coming up,” said Invesco director of corporate responsibility Claire Myers.
Events taking place through the partnership this year include the firm’s fund manager Alexandra Ivanova trekking within the arctic circle in Norway and Finland. She will be raising money for Rainbow Trust as well as her own charity Save the Permafrost, which raises awareness about global warming.
Staff will also take part in a challenge event in the Lake District, involving a 21-mile hike, a two mile row and scaling the 7.5 summit of Helvellyn.
Rainbow chief executive Zillah Bingley added: “The contributions really make a difference and £125,000 funds over 4,000 hours of vital emotional and practical support for families caring for seriously ill child. We look forward to continuing the partnership for another year."
