Solar powered electric motor factory

Oxfordshire-based Saietta has revealed plans to build a new sustainable plant powered by solar panels.

Saietta’s motors have played its part in setting world speed records for electric powered aircraft and boats, as well as launching the first manned electric helicopter flight, and the company’s Axial Flux Traction (AFT) motors have mass applications to all of the electric vehicle (EV) market, from scooters to buses.

Expansion to the business means that it will need over 250 new workers and a new production facility. In keeping with the ideas of renewable electric energy this will be fully powered by arrays of solar panels, further reducing the whole environmental lifecycle costs of EV production.
