Extinction Rebellion (XR) has targeted 13 Amazon warehouses across the UK in a protest against the working conditions and environmental damage of the retailing giant.

XR has threaten to protest at all of the company’s UK distribution centres on Black Friday, when the retailer is expected to see its greatest trading volumes, continuing a campaign of blocking entrances using structures and locks.

Demonstrations started in the early morning at Amazon's largest UK warehouse in Dunfermline and have spread since. Protestors have also used several caricatures using the pun ‘Amazon Crime’ to make the point.

XR has said that it hopes an international action will also target Amazon fulfilment centres in the US, Germany and the Netherlands.
