Clarity Walk, which brings people together in nature to reduce isolation, anxiety and depression, has officially partnered with mental health charity Centred.
Having worked together for a number of years, Centred has now taken responsibility for operating and funding Clarity Walk so its team can continue to deliver its services in the Highlands. The partnership secures the long-term future of Clarity Walk, enabling it to recruit more volunteers and reach a wider audience to support more people.
Founded by Matt Wallace in 2019 using the methods that helped him recover from depression, Clarity Walk encourages people to take time away from digital devices, spend more time in nature and connect with others. Since its launch, Clarity Walk has welcomed over 13,000 attendees of all ages and abilities, with 30% of those being self-referrals from the NHS.
“Through this partnership, Centred can offer Clarity Walk’s services as part of our overall approach to mental health recovery,” explains David Brookfield, CEO of Centred. “It is our job to help improve the lives of the people we work with - whether that is through our recovery centres, support services at our Discovery College, community mental health services, care at home, or now Clarity Walk, we can empower people to take control of their mental health.”
Matt Wallace, Founder and Director of Clarity Walk, continues: “We have worked with Centred for a number of years now, supporting with various projects and have built a great relationship with the team. As a charity with a strong mission and solid values, led by passionate people who strive to make a difference, Centred was a perfect fit for Clarity Walk. Together in the same direction, we can support so many more people.”
