Evian achieves global carbon neutrality

Evian, the Danone brand of spring water, has been globally certified as carbon neutral by the Carbon Trust.

The organisation says it has achieved this goal by continuously measuring and reducing carbon emissions at each stage of each bottle’s life cycle: from the materials used, to production, transportation and recycling. The emissions that remain are then being offset through Livelihood Funds that has planted 130 million trees.

In terms of figures, Evian has managed to reduce energy consumption by a quarter since 2008, and in 2017 was certified as carbon neutral in the US and Canada to the international standard of PAS 2060 by the Carbon Trust.

Evian also has the stated aim of being 100 per cent circular brand by 2025 making all of its plastic bottles from 100 per cent recycled plastic.
