Goldman Sachs has followed Citi’s pledge to net-zero saying that the company will achieve a net-zero position by in the next nine years.
The commitment includes global direct Scope 1, indirect (market-based) Scope 2 and Scope 3 business travel emissions.
David Solomon, Goldman Sachs chairman and CEO stated: “Still, the challenge of climate change is massive; it cannot be addressed by one company alone. That is why we have long advocated for the United States to rejoin the Paris Agreement and are committed to delivering on its ambitious goals, including by aligning our financing activities with a net zero by 2050 pathway.”
