Research by the Co-operative Bank and Opinium has found that a majority of people overall (59 per cent) want more green investment. This was despite worries in the cist of living and fuel price increases.
Perhaps surprisingly it was within the earnings bracket of £20,000 and £25,000 that people are more likely (63 per cent) to support investment in green energy, although this may be related to the age of the respondents, than the next earnings brackets either lower (less than half) or the highest (more than £100,000 a year).
However, the greatest agreement with green investment was with those earning 80,000 to £100,000 where 80 per cent agreed with green investment.
Indeed, climate issues were more important that poverty of food relayed issues, with 61 per cent putting the planet first.
