Facebook is in the news again – first there is the stand-off with the Australian government, then there is the news that the social media company is attempting to provide more information on climate change by expanding its expanding and improving our Climate Science Information Center.
The Center connects people on Facebook with science-based news, approachable information and actionable resources and has localised information for France, Germany, the UK, and the US, and is expanding this service to Belgium, Brazil, Canada, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Mexico, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Spain, South Africa and Taiwan.
A new section will debunk common climate myths and Facebook will continue to direct people to the Climate Science Information Center when they search for climate-related terms. In countries where it iis not yet available it will soon direct people to the UN Environment Programme.
