Go ahead for Italian €450m hydrogen scheme

The European Commission given the go ahead for a €450m hydrogen project on brownfield sites.

Financed under the Italian National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRP), the scheme will aid Italy’s transition to a zero-emissions economy and is in line with the EU’s Green Deal industrial plan.

Under the Temporary Framework for Response to the Crisis and Management of Transition, adopted by the Commission in March 2023, the scheme will support action in areas seen as critical to advancing the green transition and reducing fuel dependency in the REPower plan, following the invasion of Ukraine and continuing climate concerns.
