Costa Coffee pledges £50,000 to local charities and sports clubs

Costa Coffee has pledged £50,000 to support 50 charities across the UK.

Karen Bordon Dance Academy, Bournemouth Bobcats and Cheltenham Spa Women Football Club are among some of the sport groups to receive a £1,000 donation via Costa Coffee’s Community Grants programme.

The support comes as part of the coffee giant's partnership with the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games and its commitment to investing in sporting talent of the future by supporting local communities and sports clubs.

Each of the 50 charities will recieve a £1,000 donation each to help embark on new initiatives, expand existing programmes and to continue to foster a passion for sport in their local areas.

Costa Coffee created its Community Grants programme in 2021 in collaboration with Charities Trust.

The programme previously facilitated donations of £500 to local charities, a figure which has doubled in 2024.

"We are thrilled to extend our support to these incredible sporting charities and groups who work tirelessly to uplift their communities," Costa's community co-ordinator, Jo Jennings said.

"At Costa Coffee, we believe in the power of community and are proud to play a role in empowering these local groups to continue their invaluable work. Our Community Grants programme gives us the opportunity to make a real difference that goes beyond our doors, and we can’t wait to see and hear about how our donation has had a real impact on each of the nominated sporting groups.”
