Currys partners with British Red Cross Disaster Fund to support global crises

Currys has partnered with the British Red Cross Disaster Fund to help support people affected by crises globally.

The retail giant has committed to an annual donation to the fund as part of an long term corporate partnership with the British Red Cross.

Currys said the ongoing donation will seek to help the charity to respond quickly to humanitarian crises around the world, such as conflict, natural disasters, extreme weather and climate emergencies.

The charity delivers vital support including food, water, shelter and sanitation to people affected by disasters, and when the immediate danger has passed, they help communities to rebuild, recover and become more resilient.

“We’re supporting the British Red Cross to respond to disasters as soon as possible, and helping to ensure they have immediate funds in place to do this. We’ve supported them previously, and they’ve got all the expertise, passion and infrastructure to respond to emerging disasters and crises," Currys' chief people, communications and sustainability officer, Paula Coughlan said.

"This new, ongoing support will help us forge a deeper and more enduring relationship with the Red Cross and will help to make a real difference for people facing disaster and crises all over the world.”
