The EU Parliament is about to vote on its climate policy, including a raft of measures on carbon market reform, climate goals, pollution tax and stell and cement import levies.
The vote is on a deal that was agreed last year to reform the carbon market to cut emissions by 62 per cent from 2005 levels by 2030. Perhaps most controversially is the opposition from Germany to phase out petrol and diesel vehicles.
The vote, therefore, is as much about who wields power and political dealmaking than carbon.
