LV= Britannia Rescue has partnered with LAR Traffic Services to launch a comprehensive electric car service to its customers who break down in Central London. As part of the new service, a fully qualified technician with the tools and diagnostic equipment necessary for repairing electric car breakdowns at the roadside will attend to customers in an electric van – offering a fully end-to-end electric breakdown service.
The launch demonstrates the rapid advance of electric transport, and the associated services that such vehicles will need. To recover vehicles, the service will use the Renault Kangoo ZE Roadside Assistance Service Van, which is equipped with an electric car recharge unit for customers who run out of charge at the roadside.
The launch of these services with LAR is the latest in a series of new developments and enhancements to the LV= electric car insurance product. In September last year, LV= General Insurance launched a new service with AFF, the national roadside electric vehicle charging assistance company, offering roadside charging for electric vehicles that run out of charge and in April 2019 LV= GI launched the UK’s first car insurance product developed solely for electric vehicles.
