Half of UK look to climate related work

Polling shows 45 per cent of the UK and 61 per cent of under 35s are looking to move to a skilled job where they can help tackle the climate crisis.

An online survey of 1,035 nationally representative members of the public in January 2023, with respondents who work part or full time qualified, demonstrates that awareness of climate related issues and its importance are growling in the UK.

The Polling, sponsored by OVO, comes as OVO’s apprenticeship programme the Tech Academy has expanded, talking on people who are committed to either starting or retraining in a skilled career that helps tackle the climate crisis. After passing the programme, apprenticeships join as full-time engineers with 100 per cent staying on from 2022.
