Over £30m raised in long-term TK Maxx charity campaign

TK Maxx has raised £30.3m for Cancer Research UK since 2004 through stock and donations, the retailer has announced.

Of the total raised, £26.3m has contributed to research into better treatments for children, and a further £4m has supported general cancer research.

TK Maxx has been supporting Cancer Research UK since 2004, and became the lead partner for Cancer Research UK Kids & Teens when it launched in 2015.

The retailer announced the figure in advance of its Give Up Clothes for Good campaign, which TK Maxx said is the UK’s longest running clothing collection drive. The campaign by TK Maxx for Cancer Research UK Kids & Teens encourages people to donate a bag of unwanted clothes, accessories and homeware to their nearest TK Maxx store. Items are collected and sold in CRUK shops across the UK.

It launches in September, and will run again in February.

TJX Europe assistant vice president corporate responsibility Jo Murphy said the fundraising result achieved over the long association with the charity was thanks to the incredible generosity of customers and employees.

“We are delighted that we have raised millions to help beat children’s cancers,” Murphy said. “We are proud to support Cancer Research’s work and we hope that everyone will get out and support Give Up Clothes For Good this September."
